Leadership Development

Our Leadership Development Program

CELDI-Liberia’s leadership development initiatives are built on the foundational philosophy of Servant-Leadership. Unlike traditional models that focus on authority and hierarchy, CELDI’s curriculum is designed to cultivate proactive leaders who prioritize the needs of their community, foster a culture of trust, and value diversity of thought. This approach aims to equip the next generation of Liberian citizens with the ethical framework and practical skills necessary to transform their neighborhoods from the inside out.

The Leadership Pipeline: Chapter-Based Mentorship CELDI structures its leadership training through distinct "Chapters," ensuring that mentorship is developmentally appropriate for every stage of a student's life.

  • Elementary & Junior High Chapter: Focuses on character development and the introduction of core values such as discipline, hope, and love. Through the Third Place Initiative (TPI), younger students are paired with older mentors to begin understanding their potential as "change agents" in their communities.
  • High School Chapter: This stage shifts toward active civic engagement. It utilizes two specialized cohorts: The Thinkers: A group that meets annually in August to brainstorm solutions for local and national challenges, emphasizing critical thinking and policy awareness. The Planners: This cohort gathers in February during the Youth Priority Development Summit (YPDS) to convert these brainstormed ideas into actionable community projects.
  • College & Young Adult Chapter: Designed for those transitioning into the workforce or higher education, this chapter emphasizes professional ethics, strategic planning, and the "Student Mentor" model. Participants in this stage serve as the primary mentors for the younger chapters, creating a sustainable cycle of leadership.

By moving beyond simple academic instruction, CELDI-Liberia ensures that leadership becomes a lived experience, preparing youth not just to hold positions of power, but to serve with distinction and integrity.
